A Strong Start
Thanks to everyone who joined in our kick-off party at Threadgill’s tonight! Over 250 Austinites came out to hear my message of practical solutions for the serious problems currently facing our city.

During the event, I spoke with those gathered about my campaign’s core issues: the economy and environment, transportation, and preserving Austin’s character. We need to get serious about addressing these challenges. That’s why I’m running for Austin City Council: to put my decades of leadership and service to work for our city.
We need to create green jobs. We need to reduce our dependence on cars, and promote alternate forms of transportation. And we need to make sure that Austin lives up to the things we expect it to be: a place that provides secure homes to people across the economic spectrum; a place with a great arts and music scene; and a place with a rich history that prides itself on tending to the needs of our whole ecosystem and all its inhabitants. These are the issues I will focus on as a member of your city council.
Thanks for your early support and enthusiasm for my campaign! I look forward to meeting with more of you in the months ahead, as we discuss how to move Austin forward, together.
